Follow one payment: a research agent pays a data API. It crosses five steps, from the agent's signature to final settlement under Ethereum.

1. Agent transaction

The agent signs from its Agent Account. Before the transaction goes out, the account checks it against the daily limit and the allowlist. A payment over the limit, or to a contract not on the allowlist, stops here.

2. Sequencer

The sequencer receives the transaction, puts it in order and includes it in the next EVVO block.

3. EVVO block

The EVM executes the transaction and the primitives record the result. The payment settles. If the payment belongs to a job, the job moves to its next state, and a closed job writes its reputation entry.

4. Batch posted to Base

EVVO posts its transaction data to Base in batches. The Adaptive Layer proposes when to post, inside governance limits.

5. Settled on Ethereum

Base settles to Ethereum, so the payment ends under Ethereum's security.
