EVVO terms

Adaptive Layer. The part of EVVO that evolves. A forecasting model that proposes bounded changes to fees, block targets and batch timing. See The Adaptive Layer.

Advisory. The Adaptive Layer's first stage. It publishes forecasts and proposals but applies nothing.

Agent Account. A smart account made for machines, with session keys, spend limits, allowlists and an owner-held kill switch. See Agent Accounts.

Agent bond. $EVVO an agent posts behind its reputation. Evaluators can slash it.

Agent-native. Built for agents as the chain's users: identity, accounts, payments and job settlement are part of the protocol.

Allowlist. The contracts and services an agent account may pay. Anything else is refused.

Client, provider, evaluator. The three roles of a job. The client pays, the provider does the work, the evaluator decides.

Core dev. The pseudonymous builder who speaks as the EVVO core dev on X and in these docs.

Devnet. Phase 1, and the next phase after the reboot. The first EVVO network, an OP Stack Layer 3 on Base Sepolia.

Escrow. Payment held by a contract until the work is accepted or refused.

Faucet. A service that gives out free test gas. EVVO's comes with the public testnet.

Fixed default. The setting the chain runs on when the Adaptive Layer is off. It is also the only one in use during the advisory stage.

Forecast record. Every forecast of the Adaptive Layer, written next to the outcome it predicted. It starts in Phase 3.

Governance ranges. The bounds, set by $EVVO holders, that the Adaptive Layer may not leave. A proposal outside a range is not applied.

Kill switch. The owner's control to stop an agent at any moment. Every request after that fails.

Paymaster. A contract that pays gas on an agent's behalf and takes payment in the coin the agent holds.

Phase. A stage of the roadmap. Phases come in order, not on a calendar.

Predeploy. A system contract in the chain's genesis state, at a fixed address, present from the first block.

Primitive. One of the six building blocks built into the protocol: identity, reputation, accounts, payments, jobs and the Adaptive Layer.

Public testnet. Phase 2. Open to testers, and live before $EVVO trades.

Session key. A short-lived key with narrow rights. The agent holds it instead of the owner's key.

Slashing. Taking part of an agent's bond. Evaluators can slash the bond behind a reputation.

tEVVO. Test gas on the devnet and testnet. It has no value and is never for sale.

Chain terms

Base. The Layer 2 that EVVO settles to.

Base fee curve. How fast the base fee rises and falls with demand. One of the three settings the Adaptive Layer proposes changes to.

Batch. A group of EVVO transactions posted to Base together.

Block gas target. How full a block aims to be before fees start to climb. One of the three settings the Adaptive Layer proposes changes to.

Blockspace. Room in blocks. EVVO has its own, and its own fee market to price it.

EVM-equivalent. Runs every transaction the way Ethereum would, so contracts, tools and wallets built for Ethereum work without changes.

ERC-20. The standard for fungible tokens on Ethereum. $EVVO is one.

ERC-8004. The Ethereum standard for agent identity and reputation, live on mainnet.

ERC-8183. The emerging job pattern behind EVVO's Jobs: a client, a provider and an evaluator.

Facilitator. The service that verifies and settles x402 payments for an API. EVVO Pay is planned as one.

Gas. The fee paid to run a transaction.

Genesis. The chain's starting state. The predeploys are in it.

Layer 3. A chain that settles to a Layer 2. EVVO settles to Base, which settles to Ethereum.

Multisig. A wallet that needs several signers to act. EVVO's treasury and contract upgrades are planned to sit behind a public one, run by the EVVO core dev.

OP Stack. The open rollup software EVVO's Layer 3 is built on.

Sequencer. The part of a rollup that orders transactions into blocks. EVVO starts with a single sequencer.

Smart account. A wallet that is a contract, so it can enforce rules such as spend limits.

Stablecoin. A token designed to hold a steady value. Stablecoins bridged from Base can pay for things on EVVO.

TEE attestation. A statement from a trusted execution environment about what ran inside it. See Verified Inference.

Telemetry. What the chain records about itself: queue depth, gas used, payment bursts and batch costs on Base. The Adaptive Layer reads it.

Vesting. Tokens released on a schedule. The 15% Team allocation is held under a public one.

x402. The HTTP-native stablecoin payment scheme. An API answers with a 402 price, the caller pays and gets the response. See Agent Payments.

Zero-knowledge proof. A proof that a statement is true without revealing why. A later phase adds them for inference.
